Release notes ​

Use this page when you want to know what changed in the Lyt-ning Wiki, and when you want to know what was corrected in the Core App or till apps that the Wiki now reflects.

The Wiki is a User Guide, not an engineering changelog. Internal class-and-component changes, API breaks, and migration notes live on the engineering wiki (not on lytning-wiki.pos.co.zm). This page tracks:

  • Wiki waves — content additions, corrections, and structural changes to the User Guide.
  • App releases that the Wiki has walked through and updated for — the Core App or till apps released a version, and the Wiki has been re-verified against it.

If a release is not listed here, the Wiki has not been re-verified for it yet — treat the pages as last-verified for the date stamped on them, and confirm with your supervisor if a release is recent.

Changed (Wiki corrections) ​

The Wave R / R2 / R3 accuracy audit corrected 104 menu-path claims across the 14 Lytning-System pages and the older reviewed guide pages. Highlights:

  • Sidebar groups rewritten to match the live layout: Till Management · Add-ons & Integrations · Sales Management · Supplier Management · Stock Management · Customer Management · Customer Service · Finance & Admin · System & Settings · Support & Documentation · Reports & Analytics.
  • Menu paths corrected from older "Administration" wording to the live labels: Finance & Admin → HR Management → Employee Security, System & Settings → Till & Payments → Smart Invoicing / Kazang Settings, Finance & Admin → Financial Management → Currency Setup.
  • Removed invented numbers and labels: no more "above R100" (Lyt-ning is Zambian — ZMW / Kwacha), no more "7 years" retention windows, no more "Franchise_OnlineServer" internal name.
  • The Reports & Analytics group is a top-level sidebar group — items open Lytning Analytics in a new tab with single-sign-on, they do not live inside Daily Operations.
  • Device Limits downgraded to "contact Support" (the page no longer appears in the live sidebar).

Added (Wiki coverage gaps closed) ​

Wave F (this wave) closed the coverage gaps from the 2026-09-21 coverage matrix:

  • 15 missing functions — full how-to pages for Purchase Orders, Online Orders (till-side), Cooking Instructions, Kitchen Orders, Smart Lodging, Till Settings, Vouchers (Create Voucher), Restaurant features hub, and Tables (legacy + merge / split). Advanced Filters added as an embedded-widget section on the Core App overview.
  • 8 Analytics how-tos — per-report pages for Sales Reports, VAT Reports, Income Statement, Cash Flow Statement, Debtors Reports, Stock Value, GRV Reports, and Low Stock Alert.
  • 10 partials promoted — full procedure sections added to existing pages for Shortcuts, Delete Stock, Stock Categories, Mass Update Stock Codes, Central GRV Management, Cash & Accounts, Edit Employee, Asset Register, Payment Methods, and VAT Codes Guide.
  • ZRA Smart Invoice page — plain-language ZRA disclaimer and the QR + Mark ID receipt check.
  • Accountant audience — three new Q&As in FAQ-by-role (VAT return, bank deposit reconcile, SAGE / SAP export) and an "For accountants and bookkeepers" section on the Lytning Analytics page.
  • Release notes page — this page.

Known issues ​

  • Demo store cannot enumerate the Daily Operations sub-items. The live sidebar shows Daily Operations as a top-level group, but the demo user (used to capture sidebar evidence) hits a "Quick Buy License" overlay on most routes. The Wiki narratively groups these under "Daily Operations"; sub-items will be enumerated by a non-demo user in the next capture cycle.
  • Playwright 1.55.1 needs chromium-1243 which is not in the local cache; live re-capture fell back to the same-day evidence doc per the dispatch's anti-stall clause. Re-capture next session when a Playwright-compatible Chromium is present.

Maintenance ownership ​

  • Support team — reviews User Guide content for accuracy (operator language, plain-language tests, scope coverage).
  • Documentation Lead (Chris Anderson) — owns the Wiki structure, the template, the sidebar / navigation, and the release notes format.
  • Triggers — a UI change in any app (Core App, Retail POS, Restaurant POS, Analytics) must trigger a same-PR doc update on the affected page. The page's last_verified date is re-stamped on every change.
